TECHNIQUE
AGAINST THE OVERHEAD STAB
(Overhead)

1-2. Cavanaugh attacks Emerson with the classic
overhead stab. Emerson immediately starts to deflect the strike as he begins
his move forward.

3-4. Emerson extends his arm up and beyond Cavanaugh's
shoulders clearing his way forward.

5-6. Emerson wraps Cavanaugh's knife arm as he
starts to spin to the left while slamming his right arm into Cavanaugh's neck.

7-8. Emerson's spin pulls Cavanaugh off balance
while still keeping the knife arm pinned.

9-10. Cavanaugh is violently thrown to his back.
The knife arm is still wrapped. When Cavanaugh hits the ground Emerson is in
the perfect position to execute the elbow lock.
