The
HD - Heavy Duty - Series Knives
These
knives are exactly as the name implies - Heavy Duty. The HD Knives feature
a rock solid .125 thick titanium frame lock. There are no liners on these
knives, just the .125 thick titanium on one side and a slab of .125 G10
on the top side.
The
Framelock or integral lock as called by some is one of the strongest locking
mechanisms ever devised. Perfected and Popularized by my good friend Chris
Reeves.
I
have chosen two models for the HD series - The legendary CQC-7 knife and
my own personal favorite - the one I carry, the CQC-12 Comrade.
The
CQC-7 has now attained the "legend status" among knife designs.
It was the knife that changed the entire knife industry and is the benchmark
knife against which all other tactical knives are judged. The "New"
CQC-7 (if you're astute, you'll notice some subtle design changes) with
the rugged frame lock takes this knife to a new standard of excellence.
The HD-7 could very well be the "Ultimate" tactical knife.
The
CQC-12 Comrade is a design drawn from the battle proven AK-47 bayonet,
I've used these bayonets in the field for years and they never failed
or let me down. The CQC-12 has the same rugged dependability. With the
super strong .125 framelock design, the Comrade is a true military workhorse.
This knife the CQC-12 is one of the strongest folding knives ever built.
I am proud to say that it faithfully and accurately replicates the blade,
the handle, and the "feel" of the actual AK-47 Bayonet. I was
originally contacted by Mikhail Kalashnikov to build the AK-47 folder
for him. I did, but "another" European knife company got wind
of it and produced a much cheaper knife. It's a cheap flimsy knife. The
one I made was the real deal and I am very proud of it. I love this knife.
In fact it is my favorite and it is the only knife I have carried now
for over two years. It is now available to the public. I couldn't call
it the AK-47 but Comrade fits it pretty good. It's been mine for over
two years. The minute you pick one up you'll know what I mean.
