Symmetry, Grace, and Power.  These three words describe the Emerson Model A100 knife perfectly.  When I first started making knives, before “Tactical”, I was making this pattern.  I liked it then just as much as I like it now.  This knife became the archetype from which all of my other designs have evolved .  It is the “Father” of all my tactical designs.  In fact it might be the “Grandfather” of all tactical knife designs that now exist.  It’s simple, it works, and it never gives up.  See for yourself.

Over the years we have been constantly asked, “What about a hunting knife?”  Well, finally I decided to do one.  This knife was designed by my life long friend Brian B.  He is one of the World’s premier big game hunters.  That’s no exaggeration.  He held the record for World’s largest lion for several years.  He always used Commanders on his hunts but wanted a more “Specialized” blade for cleaning and skinning.  He has used the CQC-16 Prototypes in Africa, Alaska, Montana and the Midwest on everything from Cape Buffalo to White Tailed Deer and it has performed as it should, every time.  Now we bring this performance to you as the CQC-16 Emerson Hunting Folder. Comes in both plain edge and serratted and satin or black finish.

As some of you know, I live on a ranch with horses.  You may also know that I grew up on a farm.  Anyway, we all know how important a knife is when you’re working around a farm and livestock.  In regard to horses, a strong sharp knife is not an option, it is essential.  Every cowboy knows that his knife is his lifejacket.  When something goes wrong with livestock, it goes wrong fast.  A knife is generally the only thing that will get you out of a wreck with your life.

So, we did our research and found that the knife design most suited to the purpose was a scaled down version of the CQC-8, with serrations. This Mini-CQC-8 still has all of the aggressiveness of the Full Size 8 but is more pocket friendly for someone on Horseback.  I think you’ll like it.
