Here is one of those projects that I've been sitting on for quite a while. In fact I was making Karambits as far back as 1994, and I had always wanted to make a folding Karambit but had been waiting for when the time was right, and there would be a greater interest in such a project. Well that time has arrived, and it is now. So here it is.

This knife, the Karambit, is a very old and proven design from Indonesia. It was inspired by, resembles and functions in the same manner as the Tiger Claw. This knife is a very capable and easy to use defensive weapon that can be carried with you at all times. The Emerson Karambit design is unique and different for several reasons. These design differences are unique Emerson features and once again, confirms how and why Emerson Knives has established itself as the top producer of knife designs in the world.

1. The Emerson Folding Karambit features the patented "wave shaped feature". As you already know this makes it the fastest opening and deploying knife in the world. Because of this fact it is virtually the same as pulling a fixed blade knife out of your pocket.

2. The Emerson folding Karambit is a safely engineered design. There is no chance of the blade crossing through the finger hole in the handle-therefore no cigar cutter effect as found on the other inferior and dangerous designs.

3. This folding Karambit was designed by Emerson so that it could be held in either a forward or a reverse grip with no compromise of grip strength or comfort in either position. Whether you have your little finger through the handle hole or your index finger through the hole you have a knife that works extremely well in either grip.
