The Lefty 7

After tremendous demand from our customers we decided to put a Left-Handed CQC-7BW in production. It only makes sense to have our most popular model available for comfortable carry for those who are left-handed! It has all the integrity of the classic Emerson CQC-7BW with a couple of tweaks with you in mind. The pocket clip and the lock-bar are on the opposite side so that the left-handed person can carry and close their knives with comfort and ease.

About the CQC-7BW:

“The Emerson CQC-7BW was directly modeled after the classic CQC-7B ; we just added our Signature ‘Wave Feature’.  The Emerson CQC-7BW has all of the qualities that have made it the legendary knife that it is known to be, with the added bonus of having a lightning quick opening.”

HOW TO USE THE WAVE FEATURE

An important part of knowing the anatomy of an Emerson Knife is knowing how to utilize it. Using the  patented Emerson Wave Feature correctly, you can deploy the knife out of pocket rapidly. It takes some practice to master. See how it's done in the video above.

BLADE STYLE: TANTO

Emerson Knives is famous for our many Tanto style blades. One of our most popular Tanto models is the Bulldog, which is shown above. The profile is similar to that of a samurai's katana, because of its sharp angles and razor sharp edge. We refer to Tanto knives as having ‘B-Blades'.

Standoff Spacers have been standard on all Emerson Knife models since 2014. Any knife ordered from our site from that year will receive one of these models.

Anatomy of an Emerson Knife Lanyard

Lanyard Holes serve one purpose: attaching a paracord lanyard if you choose to get one. We get asked that question quite a lot!

The Thumb Button is there so that you may open the knife single handedly . Specifically with your thumb. Some people are naturals at it and some have to learn. Either way, it's very useful.

This is the only Emerson I have, it's the only one I've ever had. I have many other knives, productions and customs both. (Striders, Spydercos, Microtechs, etc.) Of all the knives I have though, this one has gotten the most use of any of them and has never let me down. It's not a pretty knife, it shows plenty of wear but it's tough and dependable- just what you need in a knife if you plan on using it.

Being a southpaw, I know the struggle of not having a knife being completely left handed. I had my eye on an Emerson for a long time and finally pulled the trigger when I found out they made a couple lefty exclusives! I think speak for all lefties when I say we learn to adapt to the right handed things but its nice to have a left handed specific knife! I have carried a fair amount of high end folding knives but there is something to be said about an Emerson. Between the chisel grind (which I find to be more functional than the V grind at times) and the “very agressive” G-10, this thing is built like a brick shithouse. great job to all of the men and women at the Emerson brand.

Excellent knife with perfect ergonomics. The lefty commander will be in my future as well.

By far the finest and most durable folder I have owned. Rock solid construction and superbly executed design, this knife is my go-to EDC blade a I would trust my life with it. I only wish Emerson made more fully left-handed versions of their knives because I would buy them.
