Whether for yourself or a gift for a friend, it’s impossible to go wrong with this one.
The cqc7B is an outstanding knife. It is a great size for edc. Built for work and a knife you can depend on.
For the longest, I’ve always wanted a knife from Emerson. I was really fascinated by the blade designs, they all look absolutely stunning. I hope one day; I get to own the Persian (folding or fixed version), Pancho Villa, Tactical Kwaiken, El Bandito, Gentleman Jim and the Commander. When I received an email that the Seax was in stock, I immediately looked into it and purchased one. This blade, is astonishing. As soon as I witnessed the knife for myself, I knew it wasn’t your ordinary knife. You can definitely tell, that Emerson pays attention to detail. At first glance, the handle looked large, but once you grasp it, it feels fantastic in the hand. Not sure if it’s G-10, but the handle material feels like stippling you would find on a firearm. It’s a nice touch, I love the way it feels when I hold it. The deployment, took me some time to figure out, I’m used to a flipper tab, thumb studs or finger holes like on the Spyderco knives. The thumb disc, is very unique and cool deployment style, it feels great. Pretty simple, straight forward, almost mimicking the thumb studs. Now my favorite part, the blade design, magnificent. It is well crafted, I really admire the Viking Seax, really pays homage to the Seax that was used in the Viking Era. The blade is wicked sharp, can’t wait to do some cutting with it. I do wish it wasn’t so expensive, but you do get what you pay for. I will 100% purchase more Emerson knives and being my Emerson collection, looking forward to it
I have owned three of these so far over the years. My first one I never gave it a chance. I sold it off because I thought it was too small. I missed it and ordered another one a few years later. I carried it exclusively for a month and realized it was everything I needed and the perfect EDC. I reluctantly needed the cash so I had to sell it.
Here we are now… a year or so later and I was desperately waiting for them to come back in stock…. What a fantastic all around knife. It truly is one of the best EDC knives available especially for the cost. It disappears in the pocket and punches way above its weight…. Highly recommended.
12 years ago I bought this same model only in the Kershaw collaboration version. I was pretty down and out back then. One day shortly after ordering it I decided to get sober and turn things around. I used that Kershaw/Emerson version to stab every can of beer and plastic vodka bottles I had. Fast forward 11 1/2 years later and I decided to buy the real Emerson version to commemorate that day. Gotta say this one is a way nicer knife to own at a much better point in my life.
I owned the older version of the Roadhouse and wanted the updated version. The new standoffs give it a clean look and make it easy to keep clean.
The roadhouse is a beast. It’s a lot of folder but the balance is perfect. The grip fits the hand comfortably as do all Emerson knives. It’s designed well and if you’re looking for hard use and easy to maintain knives made in America look no further.
Replacement for the old one that was misplaced during an interstate move. Glad I have my new one . Can't beat an Emerson!!
Bought as a Xmas gift for son in law. Just retired from 82nd.
He has carried Benchmade for years but was telling me about issues he was having with them breaking in different fashions. I've always carried Emerson. Famous in the worst places. Sure once he receives it on Christmas Day he will see the quality that is Emerson knives.
This is the second a100 I have had
I lost the first one
This to me is the perfect pocket knife
Great size and balance
I’m not crazy about the brown scales
Might have to replace those
Overall very happy with this knife

The CQC-7B is the knife equivalent of an armored truck: utterly indestructible and not winning any beauty contests.
If you believe a folding knife should be as robust as a fixed blade and require a small loan to acquire, this is your huckleberry. The famous chisel grind is either brilliant or bizarre, depending on who you ask (and if they've ever successfully sharpened it).
It locks up tighter than a drum, and the WAVE feature ensures that by the time you've fully drawn it, your potential attacker is already halfway through filling out the police report.
Witty Verdict: If you're looking for a smooth, subtle slicer, look elsewhere. If you're looking for a tactical implement that looks like it eats lesser knives for breakfast and could stop an armored truck, buy the CQC-7B. You'll never need another folder, but you'll certainly want to buy more Emerson knives just to compare.
The tanto A-100 flipper knife is absolutely awesome. It feels good in your hand, is extremely quick to deploy with the flipper, has the flipper hand guard to prevent your hand from sliding down on the blade, a long blade that you can do things with and also defend yourself and your family if you’re ever put in that situation. The blade came scarry sharp and is thick and of a great steel for hard use. The slim shape of the tanto A-100 flipper and its light weight make it a dream to carry. You don’t even know it’s in your pocket. I love this knife and I’m thinking I have found the perfect holy grail EDC knife. If you don’t already have one, you would be smart, in my opinion, to grab at least one before they’re gone. I am sure you won’t regret it. Thank you Emerson for making such a wonderful high quality knife.
It’s the best handle Emerson has made paired with their best tanto profile in my opinion. You can’t go wrong with this one!
Not my first Emerson. No surprise the is a well built knife. Was looking for a small blade knife and this fills the need very well. Handle feels good. Blade was just right for a small blade. Fit and finish are very good and the blade "centers" in the handle perfectly when closed. Locks open very solid. There seem to be some complains on the flipper size but it seems perfect to me. I like this knife very much.
Bought a CQC8 about 10 - 15 years ago. Carried it everyday about 2 years ago I was in the woods tying some logs down on my trailer I remember cutting some rope with it I probably put it down on the trailer somewhere being in a hurry I drove off and never seen it again I go back there periodically to look for it and drove along the roadside looking also. I’m still upset about losing it. So just bought another one. The best folder I ever owned and being in the Navy I owned plenty. You want a nice size folding knife don’t hesitate.
There are so many great aspects to the Super Raven. I'm glad EKI decided to bring it back. It's a big knife, ready to tackle any project but it carry's very slim and discrete in your pocket with the thin handle profile and blade shape. The hidden wave is a great feature for fast deployment but the wave disappears into the thump ramp which has great jimping for grip. It's very comfortable and ergonomic in the standard carry or reverse carry position. This knife is a home run!
Just discovered Emerson knives and im totally hooked on the build quality and simplicity of these heavy duty tools. This is a formula that works! My new mini cqc-7bw has been an outstanding companion on my recent winter comping outing. I was able to easily deploy it with gloves on and accomplish all my cutting tasks which ranged from fire building to food prep. I originally chose the smaller footprint of the mini thinking it would be a great secondary knife - but its turning out to be used as my main knife due to how easy it is to deploy from my pocket. Its like the Mike Tyson of knives - no fancy robes or flair in the ring - just a basic hard-use powerhouse.
Bought this as a birthday gift for my husband and he absolutely loved it!
The Super Raven fits very comfortably in my somewhat large hands. Weight and balance are ideal; lockup is a tad early and solid. Excellent all round EDC knife that leans into the combatives role.
