I had the mini A100 first, which I really liked, but was just a little too small, so I decided to get the full size too, I like it, it carries easily (with a deep carry clip) opens easily and quickly (with an oversized thumb disk) and has stayed surprisingly sharp after a good deal of use.
At first I didn’t like the chisel grind on the mini, but after learning the correct way to sharpen them the mini has been extremely easy to put an edge on, I have no doubt the full size will be the same, I have just not had the need to sharpen it yet.
I really like the clean simple handle shape, and the profile of the blade, my reason for only four stars is that I really think it should come with a larger thumb disk, not necessarily oversized, but bigger diameter than the puny one that it comes with.
Also a short deep carry clip without a bunch of points on it would be welcome if it were to ship with it as, say an option.
Very happy with the big boy too!
I love the format - super sturdy, no lock stick, works wonderfully. Feels reliable. It’s just a good knife. Replaced other knives as my edc.
I have several larger Emerson Knives and love them all. I
I am very proud to have had the opportunity to acquire this "All American" model to celebrate your country's 250th anniversary.
A truly beautiful piece of Americana.
Thank you to the entire Emerson team from France 🙏🙏
I like the knife very much - it´s addictive:))) But one thing I wish - the edge on top of the blade to use my firesteel...
I plan on riding and doing skil at arms with the black shamrock. Erin go bragh.
This knife is solid, well-built, perfect for EDC. Best of all, it allowed me to add a custom logo graphic, unlike a certain Emerson competitor. I wanted to add a Tactical EMS logo with my badge number and call sign, but the competitor, who shall remain nameless, but I will say their knives are “made” on a “bench,” refused to allow the logo. Evidently a silhouette of a gun violated the acceptable use policy of this knife maker… Their loss. My Commander is so much better in every way. Thank you!!!
One of favorite knives out of all my collection.
Built With Excellent Craftsmanship & Durability! Smooth & Fast Deployment Out The Box, Lock Stick Worked Its Way Out In A Couple Of Day.
Emerson’s Are True To His Name. A Great EDC Carry.
It is a nice knife. I paid the $317 as I thought the limited availability justified the extra cost; more than 3 weeks later the g10 version is still not sold out, so I'm not sure how limited the run was. In either case, I like the traditional silhouette and the bowie style blade. It is not a small knife at all (see photos for comparison). I don't regret buying at all.
Recently picked up a cqc7 and I'm not disappointed the quality control is excellent and the knife is bomb proof. Will probably pick up a second one soon to keep in my truck just so I always have one.
Love it! I have the viper and the CQC 6 and CQC 5. Many years ago. Wanted another but prices off the charts so went for this A-100 it is definitely a utility which fits my persnona, a+++++rating. Would highly recommend friends love it price is solid and I appreciate the MIL discount. Tops in my books!
I got my husband the CQC-7-B with a personalized engraving for our 20th anniversary. He was surprised and more than pleased with the gif. Thank you, Emerson, for making a special time even more special.
I have two other Emerson’s for EDC. I have carried other brands, but seem to always return to the Emerson’s. They are my favorites for EDC.
A master piece beautiful finish
Smooth action. Feels great in the hand. I play with it constantly. I like the spear point -- durable, all purpose, sturdy, sharpen-friendly. Solid, grippy grip. Wave works perfectly, pops right open. Thunderstorm finish is very ninja. Highly recommend.
The craftsmanship of this knife is so impressive. Never have I held a knife so sturdy and made out of excellent materials that truly have been refined into a functional work of art.
I was able to get a wood handle as well as a G-10. Beautiful knives. Clean, classic and cool. Love these.
Great Grip. Nice metal hardness, I have the same issue, with all my pocket-clip folders : the clip caught a chair arm & the 'tightness' was loosened. Still fits fine, just think a small curvature or 'elbow' at the end nearest the blade tip would help. I intend to replace the clip; because I have a larger waist. The blade length is respectable, for a folder; as for collecting - a longer blade is preferred.
When I saw Emerson knives had the gray American Flag, I bought one. It’s been in my pocket since I received it a week ago. It’s been great.
I love the consistency with drop in parts from Emerson. Great quality.
